Michael is a practical lawyer who is specialized in corporate law. Michael began his career in 2013 as an attorney at law at an association that protects the interest of shareholders and worked six years at a law firm specialized in the field of mergers and acquisitions and corporate litigation. Being primarily a corporate law specialist, Michael provides a full range of legal services on all aspects of corporate law such as corporate governance, corporate restructuring, shareholders’ disputes, and directors’ liability. He conducts negotiations with respect to commercial contracts on a daily basis and he regularly advises regarding court proceedings.

Michael is a member of the Association of Corporate Litigation (Vereniging Corporate Litigation).

Michael is admitted as an attorney of law to the Bar of the Netherlands, and he joined Liance Law as per July 1, 2022 as a partner.

Mr. M. (Michael) Westra has been registered in the Netherlands Bar’s register of legal practice areas with a specialisation in Corporate Law (Mergers & Acquisitions and Companies). Based on this registration, he is required to obtain ten (10) training credits each calendar year in this registered main area of legal practice, in accordance with the standards set by the Netherlands Bar.
